Last year about this time, my good friend, Dr. Rizner convinced me
that I should enter Levi in Rally at an upcoming show. I was hesitant not because Levi wasn't
trained, but because I hadn't been to a dog show since I retired some 4 years ago. She convinced me though, and off to the
show Levi and I went.
Levi did excellent at his first try in the ring, unfortunately I completely missed a station and
we were disqualified. Bummer!
I did find out however that Rally was fun and those rotten nerves of mine went on a vacation when
I went in. I was anticipating the pressure I had experienced in breed competition for 20 years, well it is just
you, your dog, and the course the judge has laid out, so much easier on the nerves. I enjoyed it sooooo much!
Levi did too! He loves to show off.
Levi and I have since competed more and He now has his Rally Novice title as well as his CGC( canine
good citizen) title. We are gearing up for Rally Advanced, the next step up in competition and I have Norma Jean in training
to start out for her Rally Novice title.
I highly recommend Rally competition if you are looking for a fun and enjoyable way to compete with
your dog. The people are nice the competition fun, and you will feel a great sense of accomplishment completing a course and
seeing all your hard work pay off.
