                                   KIBBLES N' BITS

 Summer is pretty much over, although we are not sure if it ever really arrived, but much has happened here and some changes are happening as well.

The kennel is downsizing considerably, after 24 years of showing and breeding Cockers we have decided to slowly retire out of the business. Mom is getting older, so am I, the cost of upkeep for a big kennel is getting harder and harder to meet with the way the economy is as well, so we are downsizing and slowly retiring  out of the business.

We may or may not stop breeding altogether, we will see as time goes on, but with a decision to downsize we will be better able to provide the kids with all the necessities of life in a manner in which they and we are accustomed to providing them. Which with us is the best of everything and then some.

We welcomed a new addition, Bibbette, a beautiful parti -colored miniature poodle we purchased from Oak Knoll Kennels in Georgia. We have plans to still do Cockapoos with her and Bling and we might do miniature poodles too.

Jai-Loe finished her Rally Novice title in July, Norma -Jean has one leg to go, which was interrupted by the birth of Jeanna's puppies, so we did not make it to the Lewiston-Auburn show, but we will enter another soon and get that last leg.

We said good bye to three of our kids this summer, Martina, Collin-Raye and John-Michael, the last of our original kids, they were called home to heaven after long and wonderful lives with us here on earth. Saying goodbye to such faithful and awesome dogs is the hardest part of this business, we do not take it lightly and we mourn deeply for each and every one we lose.

We have Cockapoo puppies for those who are looking. Jeanna and Snookums have 13 puppies between them. Pictures will be up soon.

Bibbette aka Legz is  the apple of Mom's eye and has her wrapped around her finger in the spoiling department, but she is also very smart and has mastered quite a lot in very little time. She is also as tough as they come, running with the big guys, barking at the chickens (who could care less), playing in the mud, and your basic puppy terrorizing.

She will be going to basic obedience soon and then off to, you guessed it, Rally classes and competition in the Spring maybe sooner , she is so smart and loves to perform. She has two years before any breeding so in that time we will work on Rally titles. Why not? It is fun for both dog and handler and you get a really well rounded dog out of the work you put in for competition, and socialization is a given with it also.

We will be adding an adoption page for some of older dogs here in the kennel. All dogs for adoption will be fully up to date on all vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered before they leave for a small adoption fee. Check back for  more details once the page is up.

For now, enjoy the fall and the beautiful foliage Maine is famous for and don't over do it on the Candy at Halloween!

Till next time;

Pattie
